Shepell·fgi Senior Vice President Karen Seward Named a Who's Who In Workplace Health by Working Well Magazine
October 26 2007
Toronto Senior Vice President of Business Development and Marketing, Karen Seward, has been named this years Whos Who Provider of Workplace Health by Rogers Media. This is the first time Rogers has given an award for this category.
"We are really proud of Karen for everything she has achieved in helping working Canadians lead healthier lives," said Rod Phillips, President and CEO of Shepell·fgi. "This award affirms that the hard work Karen and the Shepell·fgi team dedicate themselves to every day is truly improving peoples lives, getting them help when and where they need it."
Working Well magazine's first annual Who's Who in Workplace Health Awards honours individuals who have made significant changes in the design or management of an employee health benefits program, or have otherwise contributed to improvements in workplace health.
Karens nomination came from her leadership in workplace health and productivity, treating the health issues of employees as a strategic issue. Shepell·fgi helps companies develop and implement programs to build a well workplace and maintain wellness through all aspects of the employees environment.
"Its that approach that really makes our company stand out," adds Phillips. "Traditional health related benefits only come into play once an employee becomes unwell. Our approach not only creates a structure that encourages wellness, but also has management training for early detection and programs that empower employees to take an active role in their own health. Employers in turn save money as their workforce is more productive, and disability costs are better contained."
Karen credits her team with her success. "Its an honour, but one I have to share with my team. Im really fortunate to have some of the brightest and most creative people in the industry working with me every day. Each employee is critical to our success, and we would not have achieved this today if it werent for their hard work and dedication."
