Counseling Overview

Shepell·fgi places the utmost priority on providing the highest quality assessment and counseling services to employees and their families. Our counseling is geared to your convenience and comfort level. We offer convenient and confidential counseling options. Our solution-focused counseling model can be very successful in helping you resolve the problem at hand.

Counselor Qualifications
Our counselor network is a multi-disciplinary team of professionals who have a master's degree or doctorate in the fields of psychology, clinical social work or educational psychology. Many of our counselors are also certified in the area of addictions assessment and counseling, as well as other areas of specialty such as Marriage and Family Therapy (AAMFT), assertiveness training, bereavement issues, anger management, stress and physical/emotional abuse.

Referrals
Under special circumstances or when the situation requires long-term counseling, our counellors will make a referral to community resources, working together with you to ensure your understanding and acceptance of the referral. To facilitate these referrals, we maintain an extensive roster of community resources that have been pre-screened and approved. Keep in mind that even when you are referred to a community-based resource, we'll support you every step of the way.

E-Counseling is a professional counseling service available online, delivered by experienced, professional Shepell·fgi counselors. It allows employees to correspond privately with a highly qualified E-Counselor in a therapeutic dialogue.

E-Counseling is a viable, alternative source of help when in-person sessions or telephone contacts are not convenient, accessible or preferred. It is a trustworthy service that is conducted by skilled, ethical professionals.
